 By- Laws

Articile 1: Purpose

The Purpose of this organization Is twofold

1. Social

2. To strive to help preserve the history and heritage of
          the men and women who supported the Confederate States
          of America in general, and especially those from this area.

        3. To  support and assist Forrest's Escort Camp in their endeavors.

Article 2: Memebership

                There are two classes of members, regular and associate.

           1. Regular Membership: Those ladies who have an ancestor ( Lineal
             or Collaterial) Who served the Confederacy, And those
            ladies whose husband has an ancestor who served.

          2. Associate Member : Those ladies who share an interest
            in the Confederacy, but neither she or her husband
             has a Confederate Ancestor.

          * Note: Ladies Whose husband is a member of the Sons of
            Confederate Veterans ( SCV) are automatically
             qualified for regular membership, but if he is not a
              member of The SCV, and has an Confederate Ancestor
              who served, she is still qualified to hold a Regular Membership.

             Regular Members Shall Vote  On All Questions
            and hold  Office.

           Associate members Are Prohibited From
            Electing Officers, Holding Office or
            Changing By -Laws, But May Vote on All
            Other questions.

              If An Associate Member's Circumctances Change,
              She may Immediately Petition For Regular Membership.

             Prospective Members shall Petition on a Form provided
             By the organization, And recommened By a Member
             They shall be Elected At a regular meeting
            by A Two third s Majority of Those members present.

Article 3: Dues

Dues in the amount of $15.00 per year are payable on or before
July 1st each year. Any member more that one year in arrears
shall be dropped from the rolls. Dues will be prorated thus:
Members joining after January 1st shall pay $7.50.

Article 4: Meetings

Meetings shall be held monthly at such time and
place as the members shall select.

All meetings will begin with a devotional, the pledge to the
American flag, the salute to the Confederate flag, and end
with a benediction.

Article 5: Officers

The Officers shall be: President, Vice-President, Secretary/Tresurer,
and Chaplain.

President: Shall preside over the meetings, and shall call
special meetings if circumstances demand.

Vice-President: Shall preside in the absence of the President.

Secretary/Tresurer: Shall keep a written record of the proceedings
of the organization and maitain a depository for the monies. She shall
report to the members when requested.

Chaplain: Shall be responsible for devotionals, leading pledges/salutes
and benedictions.

A vacancy in any office shall be filled by election at the next regular meeting.

Officers shall be elected at the June meeting and shall take office at the July
meeting each year.

Article 6: Association

This organization shall be associated with no other, and shall be bound only by
the dictates of their conscience, and the laws of our country.

Article 7: Admendments

These By-Laws may be amended from time to timeas circumstances dictate,
under the following conditions.

Proposed By-Law changes shall be submitted in writing at a regular
meeting, when they shall be adopted upon the approval of a two thirds
majority of those attending and voting.
